Zmienność kursów walutowych jest przedmiotem intensywnych badań, jednakże badania wzajemnego wpływu kursów walutowych podejmowane są bardzo rzadko. Gospodarka turecka rozwija się dynamiczne. Kursy liry tureckiej wykazują jednak znaczną zmienność, mogą więc być dobrym laboratorium służącym badaniu oddziaływania światowego rynku walutowego na kształtowanie się tych kursów. Przedmiotem opracowania jest weryfikacja hipotezy, iż kurs liry tureckiej do walut światowych jest determinowany przez kurs tej waluty do euro i dolara.

The volatility of the exchange rates is the subject of intensive research, however, the research of mutual influence of exchange rates are taken very rarely. On the other hand, is assumed the existence the convergence of smaller currencies. The Turkish economy is developing dynamically. Turkish Lira is currently stable, the its exchange rates are a good laboratory for study the impact of dominant currency (euro). The subject of the paper is the verification of hypothesis that exchange rate of Turkish lira to main currencies are determined by the exchange rate of this currency to the euro.
