The article presents the structural changes occurring in the Polish labour market due to innovation. The analysis covers the 2006-2010 period. The impact of innovation on employment is related to the so-called creative destruction, which means that innovation on the one hand destroys the existing jobs, but on the other creates new ones. The analysis has demonstrated that the rise in employment and the related shifts in employment structure are determined by the type of innovation introduced. The organizational innovations had a greater impact on the size and structure of employment than the technological ones.
