Ukazane wybrane problemy pielęgnacyjne chorego z guzem mózgu obejmują okres przed i po operacji oraz możliwość powstania powikłań pooperacyjnych. Personel pielęgniarski sprawujący opiekę nad chorymi z guzami mózgu powinien cechować się umiejętnością prawidłowego rozpoznawania i rozwiązywania problemów pielęgnacyjnych, dając przez to choremu większe poczucie bezpieczeństwa oraz zmniej - szenie zagrożenia niepełnosprawnością. Wnikliwe obserwowanie chorego pod kątem możliwości wystąpienia powikłań i szybka reakcja personelu są niezbędne w opiece nad chorym. Prawidłowe wyznaczenie diagnozy pielęgniarskiej powinno opierać się na przedstawionej typologii guzów mózgu, ich objawów oraz sposobów leczenia.

The selected aspects of nursing of patients with brain tumours discussed in this paper include their treatment during the preoperative and postoperative period and issues such as the occurrence of postoperative complications. Nursing staff taking care of patients affected by brain tumours should demonstrate skills such as an ability to diagnose properly and solve nursing-related problems, thus increasing their patients’ sense of security and decreasing their likelihood of developing disabilities. Careful observation of patients with the occurrence of potential complications in mind and prompt reaction by the staff in question are crucial issues involved here. An appropriate nursing diagno - sis should be made based on the existing typology of brain tumours, an identification of their symptoms and application of effective treatment methods
