Abstracts

EN
Presentation of the figure and political views of a man who between 1926 and 1935 was considered the second person in Poland – after Marshal Józef Piłsudski, with whom he was on very friendly terms. Walery Sławek was a co-creator of the Polish Constitution of 1935, appointed by Piłsudski as his successor. He had his own idealistic vision of the state system based on a no-party democracy and a broad self-government. After Piłsudski’s death, he was gradually deprived of power. In 1939 he committed suicide.
