Głosowanie podzielone stanowi jedno z najbardziej intrygujących zagadnień we współczesnych studiach wyborczych.

A split ticket voting is one of the most intriguing issues in modern electoral studies. Scholars, involved in the analysis of this phenomenon, are kindled in a fierce debate on its causes and consequences for the political scene. This article focuses on one of the causes of split ticket voting in mixed member electoral systems, which are candidates competing for seats in a plurality tier. The essential questions the author seeks to answer are related to the impact of the candidates on the voters decisions how to cast their votes and the decision to split their votes between different political forces. The author assumes that the voters support candidates because of their personality, rather more than their party affiliation and are more prone to split their votes. In order to verify this assumption both aggregated data (election results), as well as individual data collected during the election surveys have been analyzed.
