Artykuł stanowi próbę odpowiedzi na trzy pytania: (1) Czy w świetle manuskryptów z Qumran możemy potwierdzić, że wyjaśniane uczniom przez Jezusa Pisma, tj. Prawo, Prorocy i Psalmy (por. Łk 24,44), odwołują się do tego samego zbioru ksiąg świętych, które zawarte są w rzymsko-katolickim kanonie ksiąg świętych, czy raczej zbiór ten znacząco różnił się od obecnie obowiązującego kanonu?; (2) Które teksty biblijne, w świetle rękopisów wspólnoty z Qumran, były kluczowe dla ich oczekiwań na przyjście Mesjasza?; (3) W jaki sposób osoba Jezusa oraz związane z Nim wydarzenia wpisywały się w ich oczekiwania?

This article attempts to answer three questions: (1) In light of the Qumran manuscripts, can we confirm that Scriptures Jesus explained to his disciples (Luke 24:44) refer to the same collection of books contained in the Roman Catholic canon, or did this collection differ from the canon? (2) Which biblical passages, in light of the Qumran community's manuscripts, were central to their expectations for the coming of the Messiah? (3) How did the person of Jesus and the events associated with him fit into their expectations?
