The article attempts at the Christian reflection of the story of Philemon and Baucis from Ovid's Metamorphoses. This Roman poet composed works that were often copied, imitated, translated, and allegorized by Christian authors not only during the Middle Ages. This kind of tradition shows that a pre-Christian work of literature can serve for a Christian reflection of a certain topic. How this story can be useful for our Christian perfection of virtue, especially fidelity, is the main topic of this article.
