Celem artykułu jest zbadanie kształtowania się w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłowych poziomu i struktury nakładów na działalność B+R, liczby zrealizowanych projektów, długości przeciętnego okresu ich badania, okresu wykorzystywania projektów oraz rentowności nakładów na działalność B+R. Problemy te zamierzono zbadać w przedsiębiorstwach wytypowanych metodą doboru celowego. (fragment tekstu)

According to the theory of economic growth, research and development activity is one of the main sources of growth. At the same time spending on research and development incurred by companies can be considered as a specific form of investment. The article presents an analysis of the basic features of investment in research and development activities conducted by companies. In particular, such characteristics as the period of investment, the level of a return rate, and risk level were examined. (original abstract)
