The article is devoted to analyzing psychological problems which people can experience as a result of globalization processes. After discussing various views on globalization a new model of the phenomenon is presented which helps to understand people's difficulties to adapt. Globalization is seen as a process of universalization of the existing social order and at the same time as a process of accumulating power which determines the direction of social changes. On the basis of these two dimensions of globalization four hypotheses concerning future development of social processes have been formed and, respectively, four groups of psychological problems in adaptation to social changes are predicted. Finally, the rules for offering psychological help toward people with adaptive difficulties are outlined.
