The author is the director of the Hungarian Customs and Finances Office and demonstrates in connection with our EU membership the changes happening in the custom services and custom inspections area and the regulations strengthening the security of world trade. He goes into details about the intensive defense of external borders, the format and results of inspections. He emphasizes the necessity to work out a law enforcement strategy which adapts to new tasks and can meet new challenges. He also drafts a few elements of this strategy.
