Przedmiotem rozprawy są pozycje poetologiczne Ingeborg Bachmann i Christy Wolf. Jej teza naczelna głosi, że w spólne elementy w poglądach estetycznych obu pisarek nie mają charakteru przypadkowego, nie są też wynikiem bezpośredniego, wzajemnego czy przynajmniej jednostronnego oddziaływania. Analogie te są refleksem sytuacji, w jakiej w wyniku rozwoju współczesnej cywilizacji znalazła się literatura.
