The purpose of this article is to present the use of depositary receipts by the institutional and individual investors as well as the important strategy of investor relations in the process of issuing depositary receipts. The first part of the article refers to the institutional investors and contains the statistical data on their investments in the depositary receipts market and the main reasons of choosing this financial instrument as a way of investing. The subject of consideration is also the tactic of investor relations, which could attract the potential institutional investors. The second part of the paper tackles the problem of individual investors of depositary receipts and the IK methods of reaching them by the issuers of DRs. The influence of Internet on the DR’s investments is also emphasized.
