The idea of implementation of continuous improvement philosophy - TQM and other modem methods of management in different sectors of industry and services (including the financial service sectors) has been attracting the attention in Poland. The analysis below characterizes the changes that are currently being done on the contemporary financial market (mainly banking and insurance). The special features of financial service and the problems of measuring its quality is pointed out. While discussing the advantages and costs of standards ISO implementation and of TQM elements in polish banks, insurance companies and other financial organization the realization of crucial TQM features — such a continuous improvement and the attitude to satisfy the internal (the organization worker) and external client - is emphasized.
