The objective of the paper is to present the significance of non-linguistic aspects in the process of translation of slang ('the third language') - an artificial language made up by an author as a tool of communication among the characters. As it has been proved, the translator is forced to take into consideration a socio-political associations as well as language tendencies typical of a target language society. The strategies and devices used by the translator come from Polish and Russian versions of Burgess's A Clockwork Orange.
