The article discusses some problems connected with leisure time of weavers employed in mechanical weaving mills of a selected company. Researches were based on the questionnaire survey. Answers provided by respondents to questions about length of slee-periods Bhow that it depends on the shift-work system, working hours and other factors euch as age, marital status etc. The time allotted to sleeping by the examined weavers must be described as insufficient, especially in those cases when it is their turn to work night shifts. That is also confirmed by results obtained by other researchers dealing with the problem of sleep-periods of working women. Another factor restricting the leisure time fund is the need pf commuting. In the company under survey working women are spending 2.4 hours on the average to commute to work and back home. The leisure time is, moreover, reduced by household duties and child care. All in all the time balance of the examined weavers shows its considerable burdening not only with professional .but also household and family duties.
