Questionnaire surveys conducted in the mechanical weaving mill of the Obrońców Pokoju Cotton Mills in 1975 provided among others information about the material situation of women—weavers employed there and their families. Comparing them with average incomes of working families on the national scale it should be pointed out that their situation is less favourable. That primarily concerns those families where the incomes of working women constitute the only source of income. In the most typical cases wages of working women submitted to the analysis account for 40 to 50 per cent of the family’s incomes. In lower income brackets they are of ten the only persons in the family br inging in incomes.
