Polish experience in science-business cooperation show that it is still carried out in a very limited extent and also that there are many fundamental barriers that effectively hinder the development of academic entrepreneurship. Those barriers can be divided into two main groups, i.e. the barrier on the side of the environment – related to the functioning of universities and the economy – and barriers on the side of students and academic staff. Therefore, actions aimed at eliminating the identified barriers should be diversified and they should take into account the needs and capabilities of universities, academic staff and students and the economy. The analysis of the development of academic entrepreneurship support programmes in Poland points at two programmes Human Capital Operation Programme sub-measure 8.2.1 and “Creator of Innovative- ness”. Due to the lack of access to evaluation reports and ranking lists of projects selected for implementation of the “Creator of Innovativeness” programme, the detailed analysis concerning the article has been performed on the sub-measure 8.2.1 Human Capital Operation Programme projects. The evaluation showed that undoubtedly the most active provinces in respect of projects financed by the sub-measure 8.2.1 Human Capital Operation Programme are Lesser Poland, à od Ĩ Voivodeship and Silesia.
