The article refers to the issues of ensuring the safety of husbandry in the face of the occurrence of diseases and the role of the district veterinarian. Preventing and combating of infectious diseases in animals is essential obligation of the state in terms of its administrative activities. The paper presents the basic national regulations on prevention of infectious diseases in animals in connection with the activities of a veterinarian. It was found that the regulations create the wide cooperation of animal owners with the veterinarian in both the combat against infectious diseases and their prevention. It has been noted that effective enforcement of the orders and prohibitions in this area contributes to improved bioasecuration on the farm, thus ensuring its economic viability.
