In the extraordinarily rich life of Poland primate Stefan Wyszyński (1901–1981) one can find a very important period, which is his imprisonment in the years 1953–1956. The first place of his detention was the Capuchin monastery in Rywałd near Grudziądz. The primate’s detention may be analyzed from many perspectives. This article refers to threads concerning Mary, mother of Jesus, noted by the primate in his “Zapiski Więzienne” (“Prison Notes”). The text includes the records which he made in the cell of Rywałd monastery. Thanks to them one can learn about an interesting version of the worship of the Mother of God in the primate’s life. The undertaken topic is part of the research on the spiritual profile of primate Stefan Wyszyński.
