Artykuł podejmuje problem atrakcyjności koncepcji zrównoważonego rozwoju dla szeroko rozumianej sfery edukacji. Ta nowa idea, kojarząca się raczej ze światem biznesu i ekonomią, mieści wiele ciekawych treści, które mogą być z powodzeniem wykorzystywane w procesach nauczania. Koncepcja zrównoważonego rozwoju dotyka bowiem tak aktualnych problemów społecznych, jak m.in. świat wartości, tolerancja wobec odmienności, zjawisko wykluczenia czy harmonijny rozwój indywidualny i społeczny. Wiele postulatów oraz rozwiązań wypracowanych w ramach koncepcji równowagi w rozwoju spotyka się z dużym zainteresowaniem edukacji. Koncepcja zrównoważonego rozwoju może okazać się inspiracją dla tworzenia nowych treści w szerokim nurcie edukacji, wpływając na poszerzenie jej pola badawczego, oraz zapoczątkować zmiany wykorzystywanych przez pedagogikę metod, tym bardziej że idea ta ma dziś zasięg wyraźnie globalny.

The article raises the issue of attractiveness the concept of sustainable development receives in the wider sphere of education. This new idea, which is associated more with the business world and the realm of economics, contains a lot of interesting content that can be successfully used in the process of teaching. The concept of sustainable development refers to the fact that current social problems as the world of values, tolerance of diversity in society, the phenomenon of exclusion as well as harmonious personal and social development. Many of the demands and solutions developed under the concept of balanced development is of high interest to the wider education. The concept of sustainable development may prove to be an inspiration for the creation of new content in the broad mainstream of education, the expansion of its research field and changes in the methods used by pedagogy, the more so that this idea has now clearly a global impact.
