Kulturowe narzędzia zła moralnego - ujęcie kognitywno-ewolucyjne

Artykuł pokazuje, że niektóre koncepcje zła moralnego, sformułowane w różnych ujęciach teoretycznych, są komplementarne i dają się zintegrować. Wskazuje również na wartość eksplanacyjną analizy zła moralnego w kontekście zjawiska opóźnienia ewolucyjnego i specyfiki dwóch systemów poznania moralnego, określanych jako intuicyjny i rozumowy. Syntetyczne zestawienie koncepcji różnej proweniencji dostarcza dodatkowego wsparcia dla tez, które zostały mniej lub bardziej bezpośrednio sformułowane w ich ramach. Do najważniejszych spośród tych tez należą następujące: 1) istnieje tendencja do pozyskiwania zasobów kosztem jednostek uznanych za (i oznaczonych jako) „obce”; 2) użycie narzędzi kulturowych osłabia naturalne mechanizmy blokowania agresji; 3) ideologie i określone zabiegi językowe ułatwiają przemoc wobec obcych. W artykule wskazano również możliwe rozwiązania opisanych problemów związanych z opóźnieniem ewolucyjnym.

Der Artikel zeigt, dass manche Konzepte des moralisch Bösen in unterschiedlichen theoretischen Auffassungen komplementär sind und sich integrieren lassen. Er weist auch auf den explanatorischen Wert der Analyse des moralisch Bösen im Kontext des Phänomens der evolutionären Verspätung und der Eigenart von zwei Systemen der moralischen Erkenntnis hin – der intuitiven und der verstandesmäßigen. Eine synthetische Zusammensetzung von Konzepten unterschiedlicher Provenienz liefert eine zusätzliche Unterstützung für Thesen, die – mehr oder weniger unmittelbar – im Rahmen dieser Konzepte formuliert wurden. Zu den wichtigsten gehören folgende Thesen: (1) es gibt die Tendenz zur Gewinnung von Vorräten auf Kosten von Individuen, die als „fremd“ gelten (und abgestempelt werden) (2), der Gebrauch von Kulturwerkzeugen schwächt natürliche Mechanismen des Eindämmens von Aggression ab (3), Ideologien und bestimmte Sprachverfahren erleichtern Gewalt gegen Fremde. Im Artikel werden auch mögliche Lösungen der dargestellten Probleme gezeigt, die mit der evolutionären Verspätung verbunden sind.

The article shows that some theories of moral evil, formulated in different theoretical approaches, are complementary and can be integrated. It also indicates the explanatory value of the analysis of moral evil in the context of the phenomenon of the – so called – evolutionary lag and the specificity of the two systems of moral cognition: intuitive and reasoning one. The synthetic juxtaposition of the theories of different provenience provides additional support for theses that have been – more or less directly – formulated within their frameworks. The most important of these are the following claims (1) there is a tendency to gain resources at the expense of individuals considered (and labelled) as “strangers” (2) the use of cultural tools weakens the natural mechanisms of blocking aggression (2) ideologies or specific language practices facilitate violence against strangers. The article points out also possible solutions to the described problems related to evolutionary lag.
