With his strong anti-academic attitude, Noël X. Ebony has been instrumental in development of committed poetry, the modernity of which initiates a rupture in the declamatory style of the Negritude. His simple and sharp texts could easily disturb constructively-thinking people. This paper seeks to understand the aesthetic originality of the poet from the perspective of the editorial metatext. Irrespective of the forms of epitext or peritext modeling, the editors’ comments constitute unique modes of representation of literary creation; the main objective of this article is to discuss them.
