The International Meeting of Artists Performance and Body at the Labirynt Gallery in Lublin in 1978 was an important event for the discourse on performance art and the creation of the formula of action art festivals in Poland. Despite its importance, it has not yet been scientifically analysed. This article is based on a MA thesis which is the first attempt to reconstruct these events and actions, describing the artists who came to the festival, as well as mapping the international contacts that led to the invitation of the most important performers from Eastern and Western Europe. The actions were put into the broad context of trends and themes in the performance art of the seventies - divided into three main parts about body art and transgressive art, politically and socially engaged performance art and the use of media in action art.

Międzynarodowe Spotkania Artystów „Performance and Body” w Galerii Labirynt w Lublinie w 1978 roku były wydarzeniem kluczowym dla dyskursu sztuki performance oraz kształtowania się formuły festiwalu sztuki akcji w Polsce. Mimo swojego znaczenia nie zostały jeszcze opracowane naukowo. Artykuł powstał na bazie pracy magisterskiej, która stanowi próbę rekonstrukcji wydarzeń, akcji, opisana artystów przybyłych na festiwal, a także mapowania kontaktów międzynarodowych, które doprowadziły do zaproszenia najważniejszych performerów z Europy Wschodniej i Zachodniej do Lublina. Akcje zostały wpisane w szeroki kontekst tendencji i tematyk w sztuce performance lat siedemdziesiątych: body artu i sztuki transgresywnej, performance zaangażowany oraz nowe media w sztuce akcji.
