One of Polish Medieval songs on the seven last words of Christ, Wspominając Boże słowa, contains an apocryphal scene of the dialogue between crucified Jesus and the devil. The article attempts to uncover contexts and sources of this interesting fragment. The use of certain aspects of Medieval exegesis and theology enables to provide an examination of the topic of the scene. It also helps to explain the scene’s place in the structure of the text.
