The article presents the employers’ expectations for employees in the context of desirable competences, as well as forecasts of professions in short supply on the labour market. Personal and social competences of students of schools providing vocational education (on the example of IT technician and hotel technician professions) are approximated. It presents the opinion of teachers of vocational subjects on the characteristics that they would like to equip students for further professional careers.

Artykuł prezentuje oczekiwania pracodawców wobec pracowników w kontekście pożądanych kompetencji, jak również przedstawia prognozy zawodów deficytowych na rynku pracy. Przybliżono kompetencje personalne i społeczne uczniów szkół prowadzących kształcenie zawodowe (na przykładzie zawodu technik informatyk i technik hotelarstwa). Zaprezentowano opinię nauczycieli przedmiotów zawodowych na temat cech, w jakie chcieliby wyposażyć ucznia na dalszą drogę zawodową.
