Artykuł prezentuje poziom polskiego zaangażowania w misjach organizacji ponadnarodowych. Wskazując na zmniejszenie się wielkości kontyngentów Sił Zbrojnych RP, stwierdza, że nie można tego procesu utożsamiać z faktem ograniczania skali polskiego zaangażowania w procesy stabilizacji sytuacji międzynarodowej pod auspicjami organizacji ponadnarodowych. Oceniając decyzje o zmniejszeniu liczebności kontyngentów, stwierdza, że jedną z przyczyn tej decyzji polskich władz jest racjonalna ocena możliwości fi nansowych i organizacyjnych państwa. Uznaje również, iż na obecnym etapie rozwoju Sił Zbrojnych RP i stanu budżetu MON optymalnym rozwiązaniem jest przygotowanie kontyngentów nieprzekraczających liczby 4000 żołnierzy.

The article presents the level of Polish involvement in the missions of supranational organisations. Emphasising the decrease in the size of the contingents of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland he states that one cannot identify this process with the fact of restricting the scale of Polish involvement in the processes of stabilising the international situation under the auspices of supranational organisations. Evaluating the decision on reducing the number of contingents he recognises that one of the reasons for such a decision of Polish authorities is a rational assessment of fi - nancial and organisational capacities of the state. He also acknowledges that at the present stage of development of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and the state of the MON (Ministry of National Defence) budget the optimal solution is the preparation of contingents which do not exceed the number of 4000 soldiers.
