Autor podjął próbę oceny polskiego zaangażowania militarnego w Afganistanie. Jego zdaniem decyzja o wycofaniu Polskiego Kontyngentu Wojskowego z udziału w misji stabilizacyjnej powoduje jednak określone konsekwencje polityczne, zwłaszcza w aspekcie realizacji polskich zobowiązań wobec NATO. Wprowadzenie w życie zapowiedzi prezydenta Bronisława Komorowskiego o wycofaniu Polskiego Kontyngentu Wojskowego (PKW) z Afganistanu w 2012 r. wymaga oceny tej decyzji oraz wskazania jej uwarunkowań, możliwości realizacji i potencjalnych konsekwencji.

The writer made an attempt to evaluate the Polish military involvement in Afghanistan. In his opinion the decision of withdrawing the Polish Military Contingent from participating in the stabilisation mission brings about certain political consequences, in particular – in the aspect of the execution of Polish obligations towards NATO. Putting into practice the announcement of President Bronisław Komorowski about the withdrawal of the Polish Military Contingent (PKW) from Afghanistan in year 2012 requires the assesment of this decision and the indication of its determinants, possibilities of execution and potential consequences.
