W artykule przedstawiono wybrane wyniki socjologicznych badań doktorskich, dotyczących zmian w elementach portretu generalicji Wojska Polskiego po przystąpieniu Polski w 1999 roku do Paktu Północnoatlantyckiego. W artykule zamieszczono zagadnienia związane z: początkami służby generałów WP, przyczynami odejścia z wojska, dalszą aktywność zawodową generałów.

The article presents selected results of sociological doctoral dissertations concerning changes in the elements of the portrait of the Polish Army generals after the accession of Poland in 1999 to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. In the article there are issues related to the origins of the service of Polish army generals, reasons for leaving the army and further professional activities of the generals.
