Because of the third partition of Poland in 1795, Poland had disapeared from the maps of Europe for 123 years. The entire region of North Mazovia was joined to Prussia. During Napoleonic wars, in June 11th 1806, a big fight between the Russian and the Napoleone’s troops took place close to Rozan. During the November Uprising, near Rozan, the fight between insurgents under command of general Jan Uminski and Russian troops under command of general Nostitz took place. It was on the 4th of April 1831. In 1831, on the 15th of July, the troops of Lieutenant-Colonel Ignacy Kruszewski defeated 300 troops of Safranov division. The battle took place near Mlynarze. During the January Uprising, a battle took place near Chrzanowo and Rozan ( 24th of April, 1863). On the 16th of July 1863, near Szygi, a division of Trabczynski had fought with Russian troops under command of Colonel Valujev, couple of hours and tough battle. During the World War I, in July 1915, few days long battle between Prussian troops and Russian troops took place in the fronton of Rozan. In May 1916 the Polish Military Organisation ( POW) was formed in Rozan, which in November of 1918 disarmed the Prussians and took over main offices in the town.
