Celem prezentowanych w artykule analiz jest rekonstrukcja podmiotowego obrazu życia i śmierci kreowanego w wybranych utworach Ludmiły Marjańskiej. Interpretacji poddałam te liryki z trzech tomików poetyckich wydanych w ostatnich latach życia i działalności twórczej autorki, w których zindywidualizowany obraz życia i śmierci oparty jest na metaforze pojęciowej ŻYCIE TO DROGA / PODRÓŻ (DO BOGA), CZŁOWIEK TO WĘDROWIEC (DO BOGA). Taka rozwinięta postać metafory ŻYCIA jako DROGI jest obecna w tekstach, obraz rzeczywistości kształtowany jest w perspektywie religijnej. Jednym z ważnych zagadnień poruszanych przez poetkę w wierszach jest zagadnienie nieuchronności przemijania życia, które często obrazowane jest w ramach kategorii CZASU. Mijanie czasu jest równoznaczne z mijaniem życia. W niektórych lirykach uwaga skoncentrowana jest na momencie końcowym wędrówki człowieka, czyli na śmierci i przejściu do innej rzeczywistości. W wierszach Marjańskiej zawarta jest myśl, że z tymi nieuchronnymi doświadczeniami trudno jest się człowiekowi pogodzić, ale pogodzić się trzeba.

The aim of the analyses presented through the article is to reconstruct the subjective image of life and death in the selected works by Ludmiła Marjańska. I have interpreted those lyrical poems from the tree books of poems published in the final years of the poet’s life and activity in which the individualized image of life and death is based on the notional metaphor LIFE IS A ROAD/A JOURNEY (TO GOD), MAN IS A WANDERER (TO GOD). Such a developed form of the metaphor of LIFE viewed as a ROAD is present in texts, the image of reality is formed through religious perspective. One of the important issues raised by the poet in her works is the inevitability of life going by which is often viewed through the category of TIME. Passing time is life going by. In some lyrical poems the emphasis is on the final moment of man’s journey, that is death and moving to another reality. In her poems Marjańska conveys a thought that it is difficult for man to come to terms with those inevitable experiences but it is necessary.
