Anastazja Seul w artykule pt. Nawiązania do kolędy „Bóg się rodzi” podczas świątecznych spotkań Jana Pawła II w wiernymi zwraca uwagę na to, że bożonarodzeniowa pieśń Franciszka Karpińskiego łączy wartości artystyczne z przekazem teologicznym. Autorka wskazuje na genezę kolędy i jej związki z tradycją łacińską. Rozwija myśl Juliana Krzyżanowskiego, który wskazał na podobieństwo utworu z hymnem Altitudo quid hic iaces... Dalsza część artykułu ukazuje wartości artystyczne, na które zwracał uwagę Jan Paweł II, odnosząc się do polskiej kolędy. Autorka odwołuje się do tradycji antycznej i chrześcijańskiej oraz przekonuje, że papież podkreślał związek piękna z prawdą i dobrem. Jan Paweł II często także odnosił się do wartości sakralnych, które zapisane są w Pieśni o narodzeniu Pańskim. Również słowa kolędy opatrywał komentarzem teologicznym. Papież najczęściej nawiązywał do pierwszej i ostatniej zwrotki kolędy: pierwsza jest najbogatsza w wartości artystyczne oraz treści teologiczne; ostatnia zaś – uruchamia konteksty patriotyczne. W ten sposób Jan Paweł II wysoko ceniąc piękno słowa poetyckiego i znaczenie treści teologicznych, wskazuje też na potrzebę troski o ojczyznę.

Anastazja Seul in the article entitled ‘References to Christmas carol ‘God is Born’ during the Christmas meetings of Pope John Paul II with the faithful’ (Nawiązania do kolędy „Bóg się rodzi” podczas świątecznych spotkań Jana Pawła II w wiernymi) draws attention to the fact that this Christmas song of Franciszek Karpiński combines artistic values with a theological message. The author points to the origins of the carol and its connections with the Latin tradition. She develops the thought of Julian Krzyżanowski who pointed out the similarity between the song ‘God is Born’(Bóg się rodzi) and the anthem ‘Altitudo quid hic iaces’. Further part of the article shows the artistic values to which Pope John Paul II drew his attention while referring to the Polish carol. The author refers to the ancient and Christian tradition and she argues that the pope emphasized the connection of beauty with truth and goodnessMoreover, John Paul II often referred to the sacred values that are present in ‘the Song of the birth of the Lord’ (Pieśń o Narodzeniu Pańskim). He also described the words of the carol by a theological commentary. The pope most frequently alluded to the first and the last stanza of the carol. The first one is the richest in the artistic values and theological content whilst the last one activates patriotic contexts. Highly appreciating the beauty of poetic words and the importance of theological content, in this manner Pope John Paul II also points to the need of care for homeland.
