Artykuł pt. Jan Paweł II o twórczości Romana Brandstaettera – człowieka, którego ojczyzną była Biblia ukazuje, jak Papież postrzegał Romana Brandstaettera, twórcę z Poznania. Autorka poddaje analizie telegram kondolencyjny, który Jan Paweł II przysłał do biskupa poznańskiego. Wyciąga wniosek, że dla Biskupa Rzymu istotne było to, że twórca przybliżał czytelnikom Pismo Święte. Jego utwory nawiązywały do Biblii zarówno w formie artystycznej, jak i w tematyce. Jan Paweł II docenił dzieła epickie i lirykę, a także tłumaczenia Starego i Nowego Testamentu. Ze słów telegramu można wywnioskować, że literacka twórczość Romana Brandstaettera ma wielkie walory humanistyczne oraz spełnia zasady starożytnej retoryki: docere, delectare, movere. Autor swą twórczością służy człowiekowi, aby pomóc mu odkryć uniwersalne prawdy zapisane w Biblii.

The article John Paul II on Roman Brandstaetter, a man whose homeland was the Bible, portrays pope’s perception of Roman Brandstaetter who lived in Poznań. The author, analyzing commiseration sent by John Paul II to the bishop of Poznań, draws a conclusion that having a novelist who brings Bible closer to his readers was very crucial for pope. Especially that Brandstaetter in his works draws upon Bible both in matters and artistic forms. John Paul II appreciated his epic masterpieces as well as poems and translations of Old and New Testament. From the wording of the commiseration telegram one can derive a conclusion that literary works of Roman Brandstaetter hold great humanistic value as well as complies with rules of ancient elocution: docere, delectare, movere (teach and persuade: intellectually and emotionally). The writer through his works serves a human being by helping him or her discover universal truths that exists in the Bible.
