Zależności między społeczeństwem ponowoczesnym i edukacją opisuję na podłożu koncepcji pluralizmu wartości. Odwołując się do relatywizmu aksjologicznego, ukazuję uwarunkowania społeczne oraz ich konsekwencje dla realizowania celów, modeli i zadań edukacyjnych w czasach ponowoczesnych. Natomiast w poszukiwaniu odpowiedzi na pytanie, na czym oprzeć aksjologię edukacji oraz podmiotowość i tożsamość współczesnego człowieka w zmieniającej się rzeczywistości, sięgam do myśli filozoficznej Ch. Taylora i tradycji hermeneutycznej.

The author discusses interrelations between postmodern society and education on the basis of the concept of value pluralism. Making reference to axiological relativism, he shows social determinants and their consequences for attaining goals, applying models and carrying out tasks in the educational field in postmodern times. Finally, looking for an answer to the question of what the axiology of education and the subjectivity and identity of modern man should be based on in a changing reality, the author turns to Ch. Taylor’s thought, and thereby to the hermeneutic tradition.
