Towards Philosophy of Media: Media as BiotechnosystemMedia introduce a parallelism of the process of experience and substitute biologically, linguistically and culturally coded mediation with one of network type. Connectionist narrations program our ongoing experience, freeing it from the control of language. Technical non-lingustic connections free the human being of humanity. We face a technical deconstruction of the identity of culture and nature. A paradoxical technical memory does not search the past in an industrial manner, but, in a set of technical and memory data, it searches new possibilities of the world – its virtualities. Cultural and biological determinism is substituted with technical indeterminism of false evolutionism (Bergson). The desolation of individual and species memory is related to the abandonment of “work of negation” typical to codes and the move towards “work of commutation” typical to networks. Media is a Heideggerian Ge-stell substituting meditative thought with calculative one. Man is no longer Heidegger’s “shepherd of being”, but an energetic reservoir of technical and mercantile exploitations. All incidence due to omniconnectivity, i.e. virtualisation, is derived from technology. Thus, human existence is subject to the dictate of market rendered fluid. The development of modern technology is a consequence of new artificial nature and the waning of metaphysics, ethics and art. In the anthropological aspect, this signifies a post-species, disindividualised (yet?) human (evolution being replaced by eugenics). A plane for these transformations is provided by the substitution of the humanistic media of humanification with eugenical media ofinhumanification. This, in turn, signifies an “ontological failure of a rational subject endowed with identity”.
