Methodical approaches to the calculation and estimation of investment potential, offered by scientists in the field of research of investment processes on regional level have been considered. The concept 'investment potential' is elucidated and methodical mechanism of estimation of investment potential of separate region is offered. On the basis of the offered method of estimation, the calculation of investment potential have been carried out in modern terms and certain rating positions of the regions have been determined.
