Marsilio Ficino, neoplatonic philosopher of the early Italian Renaissance and the first translator of Plato's complete extant works into Latin, was also the author of 'De vita sana', a brief treaty addressed to scholars about 'occupational diseases' among intellectuals. This article is a general introduction to Ficino's biography as well as to the context and the structure of the work.
