Autorzy badają wpływ inwestycji w środki trwałe na wzrost gospodarczy. Próbują pokazać, w jakim stopniu wpływ ten zależy od obecności wąskiego gardła (nierównowagi), które ta inwestycja likwiduje. Im węższe jest wąskie gardło i im bardziej spowalnia ono gospodarkę, tym większy będzie efekt wzrostowy tej inwestycji. Dla weryfikacji postawionej hipotezy zmodyfikowano model wzrostu, w którym wahania koniunkturalne są niecykliczne. Rezultaty obliczeń wykonanych dla gospodarki Polski w latach 1983-2017 potwierdzają, że spowolnienie gospodarcze poprzedzające inwestycje wzmacnia ich efekty wzrostowe.

The impact of fixed capital investments on economic growth is examined. The authors try to show to what extent it depends on the bottleneck (disequilibrium), which existed before the investment and which is eliminated by this investment. The narrower the bottleneck and the more it slows down economic growth, the more output growth will result from this investment. In order to verify this hypothesis the growth model was modified in which the fluctuations are non-cyclical. The results of calculations made for Poland's economy in the years 1983-2017 confirm that economic slowdown preceding investments strengthens their growth effect.
