The author in his work states that the information is of a great importance politically as well as socially and economically. For this reason it is so important to ensure an adequate level of security of information. It may affect the nationwide interest since state’s wealth, prosperity, citizens’ standards of living and their safety, hang on both redistribution and proper security of information. The greatest importance for this topic has citizens’ access to information and the possibility of its processing and dissemination. Proper level of access to information by citizens is ensured primarily by Polish Constitution. Some regulations can also be found in the Press Law. The study describes also information hazard that could significantly affect the security of citizens and the state. These include: civil rights violations, cyber terrorism, espionage, or risk of unfortunate chance occurrence (such as natural disaster or power breakdown). In Poland, the legal system of information’s security consists of many elements that are mentioned in this paper. The author points out, however, that the stated procedures can be reduced to a few core principles. There are also enumerated , functional sub-systems for the protection of classified information. In this paper, are also cited the principles of protection of classified information which can be found in various acts.
