Different crises have very few things in common. In this work, the author wants to show the many various aspects of the crisis which began in 2008. The main object of study were the social problems which came from sudden economic change. One of the major crises is the crisis of identity in the modern, united Europe. The new identity of the citizens leads to a reorganisation of the society. Nation-states are not a sufficient answer to the questions more and more often posed by community groups. This often leads to differences within a single country and thus makes it more difficult to identify the individual within their own state. The concept of the ‘network society’, promoted by Manuel Castells and describing the social processes taking place in the era of open access to information, seems to be key definition of society in the post-modern reality.
