The paper presents interdisciplinary nature of sport and tourism, review of the definitions of basic concepts of these areas and discusses the forms of tourism which areused during the sports camps and travel for competitions or tournaments, stressing alsothe objectives of tourism. The aim of the study was to examine the role that tourism plays in sport. To achieve these aims, the paper presents various aspects of sport and tourism as a multi-faceted phenomenon of modern life in the light of literature. The most common forms of tourism used during the sports camps and travel for competitions and tournaments were discussed and also goals which they are associated with were included. There was made the interpretation of the results of diagnostic poll conducted among group of 100 respondents-Athletes. There was presented an analysis of the collected research material, concerning the connections between tourism and sport.
