The cultural turn in social sciences has induced sociologist to take further the problem of cultural determination of social action. is article reconstructs an important theoretical trend in modeling cultural structures as inuencing social action and interaction. It describes theoretical enterprises as situated between the opposite concepts of Durkheim and Weber and makes an assessment of analytical capacity and empirical delity of theoretical concepts based on the notion of symbolic system and practice. e article outlines the typology of contemporary sociological concepts of culture and explains the internalcultural dynamics of the cultural eld of social concepts of culture.
