The project “Shelter for years is home, mom, dad” – child-friendly patrol was created out of concern for the safety of children and to promote the correct patterns of family life – without violence, and addiction. Municipality Welfare Centre in Sosnowiec and the local Police Department noticed the possibility of being partners who could help each other in solving problems related to working with dysfunctional families. The cooperation of these two institutions has been to minimize the traumatic experiences of children and to start a family support system in solving its difficult life situation. Very quickly, in Sosnowiec, the first effects and effectiveness of 'child-friendly patrol' were noticed. Other institutions and organisations began to join in cooperation that helped in achieving it, thus gaining the trust of the inhabitants of Sosnowiec and increasing their effectiveness in helping people in need. Thanks to the partnership project, a broadly understood interdisciplinary cooperation for people experiencing violence and people using violence has developed. The system of helping/protecting children against the injured parties was has also developed through joint activities.
