Autor publikuje teksty (3 opowieści i 10 pieśni) z terenów Mazowsza i Podlasia, których tematem jest postać Matki Bożej. W polskich ludowych przekazach religijnych jest to wątek bardzo typowy i zarazem powszechny. Świadczy o tym niezwykle rozwinięty kult Maryjny. W polskiej kulturze ludowej kult Maryjny funkcjonuje jako zespół zróżnicowanych co do pełnionej roli, stereotypowych myślowych obrazów. Matka Boska zawsze w sposób cudowny ukazuje się ludziom. Jest cudotwórczynią – uzdrawia nieuleczalne choroby. Jest Pocieszycielką i Orędowniczką „grzesznych ludzi”, a po śmierci i „grzesznych dusz”. Przedstawione teksty wskazują jeszcze inne wyobrażenia o Matce Bożej. Oprócz roli Królowej Polski Maryja często jest opiewana także jako Królowa danego regionu. Ponadto, w ramach ogólnej funkcji Opiekunki, w sposób szczególny Matce Bożej przypisuje się opiekę nad sierotami, wdowami i ludźmi najbiedniejszymi.

The author publishes texts, i.e. three tales and ten songs, from the area of Mazovia and Podlasie, whose main theme is the figure of the Virgin Mary. In the Polish folk religious oral tradition the above mentioned theme is very typical, and, at the same time, widespread. This is reflected in the extremely developed Marian cult. In Polish folk culture, the Marian cult serves as a conglomerate of functionally diversified stereotypical mental images. The Virgin Mary always manifests herself to people in a miraculous way. She is a miracle-worker, i.e. she cures incurable diseases. She is the Comforter and the Intercessor of “sinful people”, and, after their death, also of their “sinful souls”. The texts presented also point to another set of beliefs about Virgin Mary. Apart from being the Queen of Poland, the Virgin Mary is often eulogized as the Queen of particular regions. Moreover, especially as the Patroness, the Virgin Mary is seen as the one who takes care of orphans, widows, and the poorest.
