Zadania pracownika socjalnego w opiece hospicyjnej w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki Północnej to zagadnienie podejmowane w niniejszym artykule. W jego pierwszej części uwaga została skupiona na genezie i rozwoju ruchu hospicyjnego w tym kraju, przedstawiając uwarunkowania społeczno-historyczne i ekonomiczne oraz statystyczne. W dalszej części, poświęconej pracownikom socjalnym, ukazano wymagania stawiane przy ich zatrudnieniu w placówkach opieki nad umierającymi, zadania i zakres odpowiedzialności w pracy zespołu hospicyjnego. Przywołano również obszary eksploracji badawczej podejmowanej w amerykańskich środowiskach naukowych w zakresie pracy socjalnej.

The article is taking assignments of social worker in the hospice care in the United States of America. The first part is focusing on history and development of hospice movement in US, especially social, historical, economical and statistical conditions. Further part includes requirements for application for social worker in the institution for terminally ill, assignments and the scope of responsibilities in hospice team. Finally recalled fields of research exploration on the field of social working.
