This article is devoted to the “Kievan text” in literature of the 1910s and 1920s. The author analyzes urban novels by Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Mikhail Bulgakov, and Valerian Pidmohylny, where the theme of Kyiv is interpreted from different perspectives. Considering these versions, the author uses the formula of the city as “historicization of space” (W. Benjamin).
