The influence of virtual reality on training effectiveness was investigated making an assumption that the closer to reality the training environment is, the better training results can be achieved, especially in the case of the elderly. However, it occurs that the elderly achieve better results in virtual reality based training, especially in tasks demanding a high level of cognitive skills. It is an important feedback and has a very practical meaning in the point of view of demographic changes.
