"Captivated by necessity" is an article about the metamorphosis of ideas and stylistics of Constructivism. It deals with the problem of the sense of programme continuation of the assumptions of the historical trend. It contains opinions of two artists (Ryszard Winiarski and Zbigniew Dłubak) associated with the tradition of Constructivist avant-garde. It discusses the issue of shaping the image constructed in perception by human mind, which adds to what is experienced in the process of seeing. From the text: "The play with a differently shaped image of space, its simulation and destabilization become the necessity in the culture of doubts and ambiguities. They allow us to understand seemingly impossible situations, the ambiguity of which is particularly attractive
