The subject of this article is the comparison of two writers on the pages of the Russian press at the beginning of the 20th century: Stanislaw Przybyszewski (1868–1927) and Leonid Andreev (1871–1919). The basis for the comparison is closeness of their aesthetics and creative settings, place in literature of that period, their popularity among Russian readers. The special attention is paid to the symbolic press organs «Vesy» and «Zolotoye Runo», where the two authors published actively.
