This study deals with late medieval biblical manuscripts of Bohemian origin from the paleographic standpoint. The main emphasis is placed on 15th century Czech‑language manuscripts. In the 14th century these had been written in book gothic, while in the 15th century bastarda script had very much caught on. In addition to manuscripts that are written carefully and even calligraphically, some more everyday texts also appear. The basic characteristics of Czech‑language manuscript script do not differ from that of Latin and German manuscripts. Similar script occurs in official documents. Bastarda slowly begins to be used even in liturgical manuscripts.
