Szkoła współczesna staje się miejscem rywalizacji i agresji uczniów. Nauczyciele na swój sposób muszą sobie radzić z tym problemem, często wchodząc w konflikty z uczniami. Brak skutecznej komunikacji i podmiotowego traktowania siebie nawzajem nie pomaga w zrozumieniu i rozwiązywaniu sporów. Sposobem na to mogą być negocjacje prowadzone według zasad opartych na zrozumieniu wzajemnych interes ów. Pomóc w tym może twórcza rola nauczyciela, wprowadzającego do praktyki edukacyjnej umiejętności poprawnego porozumiewania się, zachowania empatyczne i asertywne czy znajomość sposobów rozwiązywania konfliktów. Nową w tym zakresie metodą jest mediacja. Mediator (nauczyciel lub wybrany przez uczniów ich kolega) może skłonić strony sporu do wzajemnego zrozumienia. Mediacja w szkole uczy rozumieć własne czyny, ponosić za nie odpowiedzialność, uwrażliwiać na uczucia i prawa drugiego człowieka. To bezpieczny i skuteczny sposób dla twórczych nauczycieli.

Modern school becomes a place of students' rivalry and aggression. Teachers have to find their own way to handle the problem, frequently becoming a part of the conflict themselves. A lack of effective communication and mutual subject-like treating does not seem to be helping in conflict understanding of mutual interests, can be a way to solve that. A creative teacher's attitude, appearing in including proper communication into educational practice, conflict resolution skills and assertive and empathic behaviour, would be helpful as well. The mediation is one of the newest conflict resolution communicational techniques, far-away from arbitrage, which used to be a natural teacher's behaviour. Used in a specific elementary school environment, mediation takes much more educational advantages for the students involved. Mediation teaches to understand own acts, to takes the responsibility, it creates the sensitivity for other men's feelings and rights. The mediation seems to be a secure and effective way for creative teachers.
